Ex Racehorse and jumping, any ideas please?

We have a 6yr old TB ex racehorse who last raced in May. As is usual with ex
racehorses he tends to be a careless show jumper. When you look at racing
photos, a big percentage of horses pick up over their fences with one leg lower
than the other. Interestingly when you look at retrained racehorses showjumping,
they also tend to have one leg lower. Has anyone noticed this before? And have
you any ideas how we might get him picking up more equally.
